Our Christmas Pageant

On Christmas Eve, we acted out the Nativity Story. Emma was Mary. Benjamin was Joseph. Eliza was a shepherd. Gideon was a wise man. Gabriella played Baby Jesus. Dan was the reader/narrator, and I the angel/star/director. It worked out pretty well.

Gabriella is six weeks

Okay, I'm posting this a week late, but you know how it goes. All the prep for Christmas is over now, so I have a little time. We were able to weigh her when she was six weeks and she weighed 11 pounds! She is big and beautiful.

Gingerbread Houses

With the new baby, I've tried to simplify Christmas a bit this year. However, I had this mad idea to do gingerbread houses. It has been a few years since we have done them and I forgot how much work it is. We all had fun once we got them together, but it will probably be a few years before we do them again.

Kids in Mischief

I stepped out of the living room while Gabriella was asleep in her playpen and the kids were supposed to be cleaning. I came back to find this and they were taking pictures. They insisted I post it on the blog. It is cute though.

Giddy and Gabby

I have had a lot of people ask me how Gideon does with Gabriella and thought you might be curious as well. He has a love/hate relationship with her. He will come up to her and give her loves and then whacks her upside the head. It has been a bit of a challenge. She startles when she hears his voice, but he can be so sweet with her sometimes. He gets very upset when she cries and always comes and tells me with even her smallest peep. The last few days he has been extremely wild and he has been waking up at about 6:30. We hope this is just a phase that will pass quickly. We also hope that as Gabby grows, they will be good friends.

Santa with the Kids

Last friday we went to our Ward Christmas Party and had dinner and a neat Christmas program. At the end we had a visit from a special visitor. Of course we had to take pictures and post them on our blog.

Flying Solo

Dan is going back to work full time today. This is my first full day without any help. I am a little nervous. I woke up at six this morning to make sure I had time to get everything ready for the day. Of course I'm blogging right now, but it is amazing how many things you can learn to do while nursing a baby. Wish me luck.
